Here are three black tunics….
Tunics are one of the staple items for Winter.
They can be layered up or worn over leggings or fun tights. They can be dressed up or dressed down. They can give you a great silhouette or can hide lumps and bumps. Make sure you try them on, I have been trying to find one and finding just the right shape is proving tricky.
Here is a bit of an idea file for how to wear a tunic.
I like to have a common theme to my collections, today, it is the handbags, they can all be purchased through modcloth.com. Which is a very cool online store that sells kitsch, cool and really reasonably priced clothes. It is American, so at the moment they are featuring nothing but gorgeous Summer dresses….
If you are going to wear a black tunic, try to inject some colour into your outfit in other ways. Here I have teamed bright red tights with a funky scarf and a very very cool modcloth bag..
Tunics are great under coats, or a fabulous green cape in this instance! I love this cape! Paired with some great fold down black boots, stripey tights and swallow themed jewellery you will live up to the Parisian bag from modcloth. {This bag is out of stock, I have linked in an equally cute one.}
This turtle necked tunic would be so warm and so comfortable. Here it is dressed down with a caramel long sleeved T, some greet tights and another fabulous bag by modcloth {this is my favourite of the bags – so kitsch and cool!}
Of course there had to be a black and red out fit in this collection! The following sets can be worn with any of the tunics. I don’t know if anyone would mess with you if you wore this to work – especially with these shoes! This modcloth bag is so cool, it would be a great bag for work.
I love black and navy, a great winter combination. I love that this is a bit casual with the suede wedge shoes and ‘weekend away’ kind of brown and black satchel {of course by modcloth again}.
I am dreaming of a leather jacket at the moment… I think that this one would look amazing over a tunic with the leopard print tights and oh so swish brown boots. Don’t even get me started on how cute this hat is! The satchel ties in all the browns and is of course by modcloth.
Unfortunately, this post was not sponsored by ModCloth… I have had a merry time scouring their website. I think I will invest in a dress for summer from them. So cute, fresh and slightly quirky.

I’m still wearing nighties following my recent surgery (can’t stand anything on my tummy) but am looking forward to wearing fun clothes like this again!

Love your website! I have a very similar leather jkt on my blog, check it out.
Love it – I wish I was able to think an outfit through this much. I have a few tunics, but not as many as I’d like – you’re right, it’s hard to find the perfect fit. Visiting from IBOT.

I love my black tunic. It’s great for work, but easy to dress up on the weekend, too. Looks good with boots or flats!
Man that’s style. I so need work in this area. No tunic but now I’d like to get one!

Thanks B. I’ve been thinking about getting a couple of tunics lately. I thought they were done but since I bought my smashing new boots, all I can think of is boots, tights and tunics! And I may have to get that cape. Beautiful!

I don’t even know what a tunic is, but I’d love that green cape… oh, and some coloured tights would be awesome, too! sometimes I wish I still lived in melbourne!

I have embraced the tunic this winter, but not coloured tights. I don’t want to draw attention to my short, chunky legs! I love the modcloth bags, so cool!
I’m totally in love with the classic black tunic and coloured tights. if i could wear that to work every. single. day. i absolutely would. Loving the leopard print tights though!!!
