My Holiday before Holidays… Thankful Thursday

Sky love.... Lovey country town...

I have not had to go into work this week, so I have had kind of had a holiday before the holidays begin… So I am really thankful for that!

I have been wanting to get in and clean my house properly and have thought that this week would be the perfect chance to do it. But… to clean a house, you actually have to be home! And I, have not, been home. So my list of scrubbing walls, decluttering, trawling through cupboards for things we don’t need anymore, has been left undone.

Instead, I have braved the cold to watch Miss A get second in shot put {amongst many other things} at her sports carnival. I shopped for clothes on my own. I spent lots of time with my baby boy and did lots of catch up writing things. I have made dinners early. I have taken Miss Z with me to do the grocery shopping, stopping for poffetjes and milkshakes. We then made pizzas together, then we went off to ballet. Last night I had book club.

Today, I spent the morning with Miss Z at school. She was having a Peter Puppy Pyjama Party, where all the kids wore their jim jams and we all had P food for morning tea. We made Pinwheels, Pirate Hats, played Puzzles, made PomPom people and hung out together. It was great.

So even though I am sitting here knowing that baskets of folding await me as does dishes and icky toilets and bathrooms, I am feeling rested. I have hung out with those I love and I am so happy about that.

Tonight, Mr Cool and I have the couch booked, we haven’t had a chance to just chat for a while now. One more day of school and then we can unwind a little… Yay!

Can’t wait to read what other things people are thankful for over at Kate Says Stuff for Thankful Thursday…

    • It was a good week, and now I can get my cleaning done nice and early while I am not rushing getting kids out the door for school. Although, there will be more distractions too… We’ll see how we go… Cleaning is soooo not fun, would rather hang out with my poppets!

Hope your back is coming good.
