Fashion: What I Wore :: Sunday

You know how yesterday I said I didn’t like having my photo taken… Well… I need to get over it. The photo session on Saturday was fun. As you all knew it would be. But, in an effort to get better and more relaxed in front of the camera, I am going to do some outfit posts…

This is what I wore on…

I like to mix things up. I don’t like to buy everything from just one shop and I like to buy things that I can wear with lots of things in my wardrobe. My mum is Dutch, she has taught us all to be frugal… but, I also think it helps to have ‘A Look’…  if that makes sense…

I love to have clothes that are really good quality, like my tunic and boots. I then like to add things like scarves and jewellery and bags that I have gathered from all over the place. My great red bag was thrifted, I love that I found a Sydney train ticket from 1987 in the pocket; it is a great shape and a colour I wear a lot of. My scarf was snaffled for $3.83 – couldn’t leave it there for that. My earrings were given to my for Christmas. My lovely mother-in-law is super smart – she lets me pick my own presents!

This outfit takes me all over the place, lunch, conferences, church, dinner out etc, etc… I don’t wear it to work as it is a bit short, but I did pick up a great jersey knit charcoal grey skirt from Sussan a week or so back, which will add another dimension to this outfit…

Oh, and I COULD NOT help but add this photo… Me and my baby boy. Gosh, he is a sweet heart….

What kinds of things do you wear on a Sunday?

  1. Loving the longer hair, babe!

I had the exact same bag in apple green. It was like the Tardis and was my baby bag.

    • Thanks! I can handle my hair better when it is a bit longer…

I do have a soft spot for Thrifted bags, but I quickly realise why some of them are thrifted – odd shapes, small zippers for big bags, scratchy handles…. but THIS one is a fav – it gets a run a lot.

    • Just quietly – I cannot imagine patterned tights NOT being in… they are so versatile and can be really subtle… That is my prediction anyway… I cannot imagine a time when we are all wearing nude coloured pantyhose again – but – I didn’t predict wanting yellow jeans either!

  4. Yay for being in the photo! Love the outfit.

I actually wore a daggy sweater and tracksuit pants for the first half of the day, before donning my jeans, my docs and a shirt to go and meet someone.

Once home I lolled in the bath and am now in my PJs. Fashion doyenne, that’s me!!!

  5. My weekend and week day wardrobe is the same. I don’t own a tracksuit. But maybe I should invest in one :) . I’m either in workout wear to work out or dressed up. I love dressing up, will dress up even if I don’t leave the house.

    I love your outfit.

    • You don’t seem to be the tracksuit wearing kind of gal to me!

We all have our ‘styles’ don’t we?

I only own one pair of trackpants and they don’t get used very much. I prefer jeans. I have three different kinds of things going on in my wardrobe: My casual day to day jeans and things, my teaching wardrobe and my dressing up things. I do mix them all around though. I like to know that I am wearing the things I have. Little Miss Practical – that is me!

  6. It’s true. Your hair does look fab. I’ve been wondering whether your hairdresser would be interested in a new client? Ideally I want someone who can come to me, but I can’t find another one, and the current one is not entirely right, for entirely niggly reasons. But anyways – great post, and the piccy of you and Baby Cool. Adorbs.
