Life: Failing September

So…..

I have been failing at a few things lately….

In September I failed at my own drawing challenge… I am up to Day 22 – I will finish it tonight, but it is not quite the same as doing a drawing a day which is kinda the premise of it… Sigh, uncool B, uncool.

I also failed at the 20 Day Organised Housewife Challenge. I got up to day 15 and the term and life just got too busy and I fell off the wagon.

In the past this would have really rocked me. It would have sent me into a dull-drum and it would have made me wonder why I bother trying. But, what I am learning is that life is what I make it. Life is what I do when I don’t meet my own {crazy at times} expectations. Life is about enjoying the journey.

So… I need to remind myself to…

I am going to get on with some drawings and get the month ended. I have a new drawing challenge going live tomorrow – giving myself the chance to do better in October. I have written a list of cleaning tasks I still have to complete and will work on those over the next week or so.

I have come too far in life to start giving up on things now. Yes, deadlines are important, but when they are ‘challenges’ that I choose to do, I need to be a bit flexible {not so good at that though!} I am also going to say that I haven’t failed in September. I have kicked some other big goals and I have lived a lot of life and well… that is okay. Really, it is.

If you need to be reminded to Just Keep Trying… you can print out my little banner: Just Keep Trying

Are you ready to kick some goals in October?

  1. Good attitude – too often we have all or nothing attitudes – it is not failing when you complete a whole heap of stuff (even if you did not do every day!)

  2. Hi B
I learnt a long time ago, that if you only get one thing done on your list when you have young children, that you haven’t failed… but rather achieved! I think failing is more like when you forget to feed your children and they are running around the street half naked… or you forget to change a wet nappy… all day! Yes, I did do that last one. The child is still alive, happy and unaffected, so even it is not really a failure. Keep looking to your goals but don’t beat yourself up if you don’t achieve them!

  3. I fell out of the Organised housewife #20day challenge as well ( roughly half way through) . I finished the photo a day challenge but often posted 2-3 days together as I didn’t take a photo every day. Life sometimes gets In the way…excuses, excuses!
