Last Tuesday, we went to the movies to see Madagascar 3. It was great! We dropped BabyCool at Grandma’s house and just took the two big kids. It was a nice break from chasing him around and stopping him from breaking stuff.
We had planned on going away for a few days, so there was a list of clothes I didn’t want to wear so I wouldn’t have to madly wash them and get them dry again before we left. So… here is an outfit I pieced together – it just so happens that this was a bargain lovers dream outfit. Check. It. OUT!
I thought I looked pretty cute and it was the perfect outfit to wear to the movies. I was comfortable and not too hot or too cold and felt dressed down enough for a kids’ movie.
I love the pop of colour in the jeans and I love that I can match my favourite denim jacket with them! Throw in some black, white and grey and I am a happy B!
Just a quick word on styling… The jeans are a skinny jean. So, I put a longer t-shirt over the top to give more of a friendly line across the hips. Then I added a jacket that tapered in at the waist to give some shape. By then adding a longer scarf adds some more detail while also drawing the eye along the length of the body and gives an illusion of length… I love this trick – I use it a lot. I have a short, high waist so I need to make sure I add some length to my torso…
When mummy is having photos taken, BabyCool thinks this is the perfect time to come and have a chat – love my little mate…
So… what do you wear on Tuesdays… or to the movies…?
It was not lost on me that we went to ‘Cheapy Tuesday’ and I was wearing my budget of all budget outfits…

Hmm… maybe I should take green jeans and denim jacket to Melbourne? Too casual?

I think it would be great for travelling and stuff… You may want somethings a bit more dressy for the conference? Although – you do look super cute in jeans. Do I need to come over and help with the packing? {This is an offer…}
Love this outfit, the red jeans look great.
Oh and BabyCool is super cute!

Thanks Melinda! I love red – I was determined to buy any other colour… But… I do just simply love red… {And CraftyMummy bought some green ones and blue ones and then I couldn’t go and have the same – we hang out waaaay too much to wear the same jeans!}
I love this outfit, it looks fab! I definitely think its time to get me some awesome coloured jeans x

Thanks lovely, high praise from such a cutie as yourself!
Love the outfit. I’m quite a bargain dresser, I hate spending too much money on clothes. I’m such a jeans girl, always about the jeans. But I get bored of them so easily so I’m stoked with the coloured and patterned jeans that are coming out. I rocked a striped pair yesterday with a white shirt and navy cardi, then I realised once we were out that I’d dressed my lil girl in a navy & white striped shirt with white tights and a white cardi. I had unintentionally dressed us in matching outfits lol!

You look super cute B! I love the trend of coloured jeans but do you want to know something? I don’t own a single pair – coloured or otherwise! True story

Love the red! Good to hear your tips too. I’ve got a regular torso, but biggish hips, and I try and disguise them.

You look great. I love a coloured jean, And thanks for the reminder about the denim jacket…its been a while since I’ve worn mine but with coloured denim it becomes perfectly acceptable to do denim on denim!
