I have a painter in the house and it is raining… these two things combined means it is hard for me to concentrate on writing anything involving long sentences…. So… here is a list of random things I am thankful for….
- New Lipsticks
- A baby boy who has started playing with trucks
- Seeing my big sister dressed up and looking fabulous
- Girls getting new shoes
- Mr Cool’s silly jokes
- Coffee
- Kicking goals
- Walks in the early morning
- Freshly painted ceilings
- Getting all my washing done before the rain came
- Impromptu afternoon tea with my MIL
- Waking up to thunder and lightning – it was an impressive storm here last night
- Twitter buddies
- Dreams
- Dry Roasted Almonds
- Painted toenails
- New dresses to wear
- Flowers growing in my garden
- Buying the wrong eyeliner which means I get to go back to the shops on my own tonight!

Not until I became a mother did I realise the bliss that is going to the shops by myself! That is something to be thankful all on it’s own!

Plenty of big, important stuff but as for the little things? A strong cup of Twinings Irish Breakfast Tea. Whittaker’s Mini Peanut Slab chocolate. Thursday night mindlessly entertaining TV shows (Brynne, Beauty & The Geek). Cuddles with Mr Sonic on the couch. Laughing at our silly old cat. A good night’s sleep warm under the covers while the rain falls outside.

Maybe tonight I can come up with a list of things to be thankful for but for right now I am thankful for a civic minded child who is out on her first SES expedition looking for a 57yo who has gone missing.

ooooh pretty lipsticks! my makeup could use an overhaul! i bought some stuff that needs to go back to the shops too, but will probably end up dragging the family along! Enjoy the shops all by yourself!

HI B. Love your list. Today I am loving….being the only one (with little j) on the beach today….how amazingly good he has been all day (at the park, shops, beach and then vacuuming the whole house with his little op shop bargain vacuum cleaner)….wind squalls that stopped short of blowing down every pot plant….the prospect of seeing the QLD symphony orchestra in an open air concert tomorrow (as long as that rain holds off)…Big J’s RDO tomorrow…..the aromas coming from the tagine on the stove top….kangaroos in the front yard….(BTW…have you read Ann Voskamp’s ‘One Thousand Gifts’? Worth a look.)
I too am thankful for painted toenails! I can stand a naked toenail. But pretty colourful toenails are bliss! It sounds kind of shallow when I think about it, but I don’t care, I love it all the same. I had a pedicure last week, so my toenails are particularly pretty.
