Ah, the school holidays… A break from school lunches and uniforms, drop offs and pick ups… It can be a great time of fun and family and friends, but it is a perilous balancing act between relaxing and doing stuff… It can be tricky…
Last week I wrote about the importance of Planning when it comes to holidays. Then I wrote about the most important aspect {to my kids anyway} – the Food. And then I wrote about the importance of taking the time to Chillax.
Today’s post is about thinking outside of the box and doing some new things… I have arranged them in budget and space…

High Budget
Indoors
- Do some redecorating – choose a room or an area that could use a little boost

- Throw a party!
- Buy some cute new bake-ware and cook some new cool things
- Take some time to print some photos out {Snapfish On-line is great}

- Pull out a craft you have started and do some more – even if that means buying new fabric, papers, beads etc.
Outdoors/Out & About
- Go shopping and buy some new clothes, or shoes, or… anything!
- Go to a theme park
- Buy some skates and hit the pavement
As you can see, I am MUCH better at finding things to do that are free! I like to think that the imagination is better than anything. I do enjoy doing things that cost money, don’t get me wrong, but we only get to spend our money once, so free is good. AND I have found that my children love nothing better than heading to a park with a picnic and a ball and some bubble mix – I think we adults complicate things by going places that cost money….

I would definitely love to do a craft inside! It’s not just fun but it’s one way of learning stuff.
Then later on, make that craft a good home decoration or a room decoration, right?
So TRUE! Good thinking!
Ah, Kindred spirits we are. I’ve ticked a lot of that list off (mainly low budget admitedly) these holidays! Lego is a big fav around these parts right now and wooden train sets. The initial outlay on those toys has certainly been worth it. Today we went to art class. I’ve still got paint stuck under my fingernails.

Oooh – I will add those to my list if that is okay? I would love to think that this list grows and grows and gets photos added so that in time it will be a fabulous resource of holiday fun amazingness…
