I was sent some toys to review and give-away thanks to Daju….
I was pretty excited! As were the poppets!
I had a ‘Perfect Sunday Afternoon’ post all planned in my head…
Close your eyes and picture this…
Sunday afternoon.
Sunshiney day….
Our family heads to the park for a picnic…
Shadow playing shapes on the grasss…
Homebaked cake and hot coffees…
Two incredibly good looking parents *wink* watching their children playing with fun toys in the shade of age old trees. The children jump up and rush to kick and run around playing with a ball…
The parents snap photos of their lovely children, acting smug about the genius behind bringing toys to the park…
Sigh… Lovely scene, yes?
But… it rained or stormed all weekend….
My little day dream didn’t quite come off…
But…
We did have a freshly baked cake for morning tea… It was an ‘Orange Drizzle Cake‘… and we had hot coffees… and some nice cheeses too, but we ate around the dining table, not under the shade of a tree.
The children were pretty excited to be able to open up and play with the ‘Travel Chalk Play Mats’ and ‘Balloon Ball’ sent to me from Daju Toys. I was very pleased to have some new things for them to do on the second rainy day of the weekend!
The girls went straight to work drawing and writing.
Even BabyCool sat to draw, he particularly loved rubbing out, which was nice and easy to do!
We loved that there was a little pouch for the chalk and the duster. And we loved that they are so easy to roll up again.
As soon as Mr Cool started blowing up the ‘Balloon Ball’ he had BabyCool’s full attention. The ball is easy to use, simply slide a balloon in it, blow it up and then tie it off.
I would love to say that my children all played nicely with it, but… they didn’t. BabyCool decided that it was his and made it very hard for the girls to play with it!
The ball is nice and light, perfect for kicking around, but, it is also really bouncy! Which was a nice surprise! Once BabyCool was distracted, the girls did get to play with it … it is even light enough to play with inside!
These toys will now be part of our ‘Travel Toys’ basket. They will be great to bring along to picnics, camping and day trips. I love that they came in handy for a rainy afternoon too! The best part is the way that they roll up or fold down. The balloon ball folds down to the size of a handkerchief - very handy! We also loved that the Chalk Mats came with chalk and the Balloon Ball came with a few balloons. Nice touch!

Oh Daju is so clever bringing back the fun! I’d love some of that fun during our upcoming road trip – 23 hours + 5 children incl. 3 babies. Yup, we could really utilise anything fun for travelling during that time!!!
